Man, i love life with god.
All things converge at one time or another
What could be better than getting up on a Sunday morning, drinking some coffee, and getting ready to hang out with some friends whos beliefs are similar to yours. Community, just real community. It is cool to know to hang out with friends, maybe talk about God a little, eat some food, but no formal "churchy feel." Interesting thought. It is happening all over the world just friends hanging out with no agenda other than to be together and know God. Maybe in the near future that will be happening in Virginia Beach.
Well, it is happening all over Virginia Beach, it is just not labeled as church. People get together all the time and hang out as the church, there has always been groups who have.
Cheers with your morning, hope you coffee is good. I am heading off to a formal church this morning then this evening hanging out with friends, which is what I call church.
typical monday with lots of things going every which way. wondering...why is it that husbands have such a hard time understanding the ministry to their wife? wifes are first, bottom line, yet so many wives come anything but first. i have some close examples to me where i just scratch my head daily as to why the husband can't get it. even on a secular basis, but definately in a christian family there should be no way that a husband can not see the example that christ was to the church.
God says it like this: "And you husbands must love your wives with the same love Christ showed the church. He gave up his life for her to make her holy and clean, washed by baptism and God's word...In the same way, husbands ought to love their wives as they love their own bodies. For a man is actually loving himself when he loves his wife. No one hates his own body but lovingly cares for it, just as Christ cares for His body, the church." (Ephesians 5:25, 28-29)
Whether married or not, God is clear about the structure of our priorities and He is always to remain first. Second, service to others is to be the next priority. However, if married, the second priority is to be a person's spouse. Often once a person marries they forget to make the vital switch in priorities. Now instead of others being first importance in their life their spouse must hold that place. Though the married unit is two independent people, spiritually and in God's mysterious ways, they are one and the same. God loved the human race so much that He sent Jesus to live on earth for 33 years and die for her. In the same manner, married couples are to abandon everything for each other. This means literally "dying" to everything else, even ministry, to minister to each other first.
interesting. just contemplating. so much that goes through my mind everyday. It is mostly the "whys" that get me. you know, why this and why that. there is a lot of acceptance without asking the why in the world. i can't seem to get that down, i always ask why
today is a completely amazing day. actually, the last couple days have been undescribable. my creator and lord is so faithful and lavishes His love and gifts on me with incredible accuracy. he gives good gifts! have you ever felt like you are living in a dream where the most incredible thing happens to you, and then it just keeps getting better and better to where you can hardly contain it?
it happened. i am hoping that part of the reason that God trusted me with another to care about is because he trusts me with the love that He and i have. it may have taken me all this time to finally get to where i will never sacrifice what He and i have.
imagine if a candle were a person...it stays where you set it...when you light it it stays lit...it's purpose is to give off the most beautiful light...it changes the atmosphere immediately while it is burning...it burns never asking for anything in return...many times the aroma is entrancing...and ultimately it gives itself completely out for you. even when it is blown out the smell of it going out spreads to the entire house and makes you glad you lit it. that is the way i want my life to be, like a candle. is there really anything more beautiful than a candle burning? i know without a doubt that i have been granted something that you "can't hold a candle to."
a quote i happened upon today that puts it all in perspective, "In every man there is something which to a certain degree prevents him from becoming perfectly transparent to himself; and this may be the case in so high a degree, he may be so inexplicably woven into relationships of life which extend far beyond himself, that he almost cannot reveal himself. But he who cannot reveal himself cannot love, and he who cannot love is the most unhappy man of all." Soren Kierkegaard 1834-1855
the close to a perfect several days ~sigh~
*peaceful*
a quiet day today. got up fixed a big breakfast, then sat around and sipped decaf (i got off caffine over a year ago.) i have found some fantastic decaf cafe from la madeline's, really like it a lot. working today on css for the new biz and the pages are coming along. the pages and code work great but i am putting a totally new front end on it. so it's peaceful, just a great day hangin out with God, and enjoying Him with the the great day and the ability to learn that He has give me. nothing new on the other biz still very slow and no liquid for awhile now, ?idonno?
*lovesick*
it seems to hit me all the time that feeling of needing to give more love while at the same time just needing love. is that so selfish to need love? it would seem like that is only a natural thing for us to need. God said that the greatest of the commandments is to love your neighbor as yourself, therefore there has to be those out there that need that love. it seems fine that we can each need that love while yet giving love. i've found that giving love is so much fun, why is it that more people don't enjoy the giving but only want the getting? there is nothing that i can think of that is any better than being in a total "in love" relationship, and is probably why there is such a longing to be in one and such a pain inside when cast out from one. could it be that the way to truely love is to love no matter what and when that feeling comes to where you feel that you can no longer love that person, then love some more a never stop, because not loving is your problem and not the person that needs the loving? i think that is it, for in God i see the same example. He loved us more than any other even though we have given Him every reason to stop loving us. however when He could have turned and stopped loving us for everything that we had done, instead He showed us even more love than before by giving Christ his only son. so yes, to love another is not an option, for when your love stops for another it is your problem and not theirs. this love is not a surface word instead to love is action based, to truely love requires action and pursuit without pause or reservation, always. how cool to know that God commanded that i must be loved by others no matter my worth or attractiveness. likewise i with blinders on to love all others regardlessly. written to all those who have turned their backs on me...
*satisfied, with great hope*
the last several weeks have been hard to understand exactly (well, even remotely) what God has been up to. i had some really great things happen, and then the more significant of them just seemed to disappear, one in particular. i've been learning that i feel an incredible peace compared to some. it is easy to look into my Father's eyes, and nothing compares to his peace, i need my Father's eyes and they are always there looking at me. so many times i feel like i am a voyger alone on a quest that very few want to share. when i stop and think about life i am amazed at how rich, uncomplicated, relaxed, and straight mine is. it's the simple things that i delight in the most. i believe that roads are for journeys not destinations and life is not a problem to be solved but an adventure to be lived.
i've just got to keep remembering that it is not for me that i live but for others. if people only knew how important a role they have played in my life in just the last two weeks. one person in particular, if they had not come along when they did and allowed me to know them a huge significant thing wouldn't have happened in my life. yeah, they left too early to find out what it was and probably thinks that they could not make such a huge impact, well, they did, i am sorry that they will never know. but you know God kept them involved in my life long enough for it to happen, i wish they could have shared it, but you know people are really busy and have very little time to invest in something that maybe only they can accomplish in someone's life, *poof* they are gone. well it made a difference in my life if only i could have time to share, they would be floored at how God used them.
life is great, i don't know how it could be better. just over the last couple weeks and through that phenominal thing that happened i have a new lease on life. i have to remember, invest in others because that is why i am here. *sigh, what a good feeling*
